Goodwill Industries, Inc., Serving Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa, has been providing work services and opportunities since 1933. As the area's leader in a comprehensive, coordinated network of services, Goodwill works to eliminate unemployment among people seeking self-sufficiency, including individuals with disabilities and other disadvantages. Through training and employment opportunities, Goodwill assists the community's economy by creating wage earners as well as consumers. Goodwill serves a rich diversity of individuals with varied experience, skills and interests, all striving to overcome barriers to employment.
Did you know that in 2008, we served 2,420 people with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions and 291 individuals were placed into competitive employment? The Power of Work has been the guiding force of our past, present and our future. Everyday Goodwill's comprehensive programs provide people with a wide array of services. There are 166 community-based Goodwill member organizations in the United States and Canada, as well as 13 organizations around the world that call themselves Goodwill. Goodwill's North American members and international associate members operate under the umbrella of a common mission, however, each Goodwill functions as an independent organization with its own programs, services, and locally elected board of directors. Please visit Goodwill Industries International for more information. OUR MISSION: Goodwill changes lives and strengthens communities through education, training and work. OUR VISION: Goodwill Industries will eliminate unemployment among people who want to work. |
